The Austin cycling scene
Austin's road scene runs on the Hill Country west of town: endless 360-style loops with real climbs. Gravel access is excellent. Summer is so hot most weekend rides start at 6 AM. CX scene exists but is overshadowed by gravel.

Bike Austin's volunteer-led rides program is the city's most newcomer-friendly on-ramp: rides are no-drop and led by a trained ride leader unless noted otherwise. The calendar lists rides nearly every day, rated by intensity (E through AA) and hilliness so you can pick one that matches your fitness before showing up.
Breakfast Club ATX
A community-driven Austin riding crew best known for its big monthly supported ride with vehicle escorts and a pace group for everyone, drawing hundreds of riders. Also runs Babes Rides for women, women-identifying, and non-binary cyclists twice a month from its East Austin clubhouse.
Austin Ridge Riders
Austin's mountain bike club, advocating for trails and riders since 1987 with 600+ members. Its free Sunday group rides at Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park are explicitly no-drop and split into pace groups from beginner (4-6 miles) through advanced (15-20 miles), making it an easy place to start off-road.
