Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kaniku Labs LLC(“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Cycos (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account & profile: name, display name, email address, date of birth, gender (optional), profile photo, and bio.
Rides & activity: rides you host or join, RSVPs, ride details you post (titles, descriptions, routes), and meeting locations.
Approximate location: map searches and a location you optionally share to find nearby rides. We do not continuously track your location.
Technical & usage: basic, mostly aggregate analytics (e.g. page views) and standard log/device data.

2. How we use it

To operate the Service: create and secure your account; show rides on the map; let you host, join, and coordinate rides; display your profile and who’s going to other riders; send transactional messages (e.g. a ride you joined was cancelled); and to maintain, improve, and protect the Service. When you create an account we also add you to our community email updates; you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any such email.

3. Service providers we share with

We use trusted third parties to run Cycos. They process data only to provide their services to us:

Supabase: database and authentication.
Vercel: hosting and basic analytics.
Resend: email delivery and our mailing list.
Mapbox: maps and address search/geocoding.
Google: “Sign in with Google” (if you use it).
Upstash: anonymous, aggregate view counts.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

4. What other riders can see

Cycos is a community product. Your display name, first name, profile photo, and bio are visible to other users, and if you host or join a ride, that participation (including your first name and photo in the “who’s going” list) is visible to others viewing that ride. Your email, last name, date of birth, and gender are never shown publicly and are stored privately, visible only to you.

5. Cookies & analytics

We use cookies/local storage necessary for sign-in and to keep you logged in, and privacy-light analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

6. Your rights & choices

You can edit your profile any time on your account page, and delete your account there to remove your profile, rides, and RSVPs. You can unsubscribe from community emails using the link in any such email. Depending on where you live (e.g. California/CCPA or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these, email hello@cycos.cc. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service. When you delete your account we remove your profile, rides, and RSVPs; some records may persist in backups for a limited period or where retention is required by law.

8. Children

The Service is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
