The Strasbourg cycling scene
Strasbourg is regularly ranked the most bike-friendly city in France and among the most bike-friendly in Europe, with roughly 600 km of cycle paths across the Eurométropole. Riding in and around the city is flat and approachable — the Rhine, the Ill, and the Bruche valley make for easy, car-light spins — while the Vosges foothills to the west add real climbing for those who want it. The city sits on the EuroVelo 15 (Rhine Cycle Route), and cyclotourisme and everyday-cycling culture run deep on both the French and German banks.
